My interest in art and animation began at a young age watching cartoons like Ren and Stimpy and animated films like The Sword in the Stone and Alice in Wonderland. In high school, I started drawing in earnest, beginning to develop a personal style.
Like many people at that age, I was also interested in video games, both as entertainment and as a form of storytelling. I decided to pursue an education that would allow me to combine my interests in art, video games, and storytelling.
Those interests brought me to the DigiPen Institute of Technology in Redmond, WA, where I completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Production Animation in 2009. My education at DigiPen not only included animation, but also a solid foundation in traditional art styles and media.
During my senior year at Digipen, I held an internship at a start-up studio, Hourglass Games, where I worked on character animation, prop and environment modeling. Since graduating, I have been working as a freelance animator, on projects ranging from medical animation for a pharmaceutical product to character modeling, rigging and animating for an educational short film (Good press on the new project). My clients have included Green-Eye Visualization and Arkitek Studios, both located in Seattle.
When I’m not animating, my interests include drawing, snowboarding, video games, and rocking-out on the drums.
